Phuket is still regarded as a dream destination by insiders who like a vacation in Asia that is tailored to their individual requirements and desires. Some of the island's most beautiful beaches are located just a few minutes by car away from Phuket International Airport: Nai Yang, Nai Thon, Nai Thorn und Mai Khao. Right here are the four Aqua Divers Dive Centers. It all started in 1995, when the Dive Center in Nai Yang was established. Since then, Aqua Divers have expanded to Nai Thon (in 1999), Nai Thorn (in 2002), and Mai Khao (in 2004).

1. Aqua Divers Andaman Dive Center, located in the Andaman White Beach Resort Hotel und Spa, is managed by Caroline Boysen.
2. Aqua Divers Nai Thon Dive Resort is managed by Jens Hofacker and Rainer Gottwald

Both Aqua Divers Dive Centers are located directly on the beach. Each is a certified 5 Star ITC Master Center and a 5 Star CMAS Thailand Chief Examiner Academy. In addition, Aqua Divers Mai Khao is a SSI Platinum Center. Each Aquadivers center is equipped with newest equipment, best logistics including most modern fuel stations. U/W digital - camera service, diving computer rental business, UW SCOOTER and Nitrox (Enriched air) are normal at Aquadivers. Our divie boats just wait for bringing each diver within a few minutes into the fascinating world of the silence under water.

Jens Hofacker

Jens is a member of the Aqua Divers Team since November 1996. Before he came to Thailand, he lived near Stuttgart/Germany, working as a cook. Since 1999, Jens is the Managing Director of Aqua Divers and the BIG BOSS with all responsibility on HIS shoulders.

Operationally, he manages the Aqua Divers Nai Thon Dive Center.His specialties are Instructor Trainings Courses (ITC) and Exams (IE) for CMAS Thailand and IDA (member of CMAS ); another specialty is his ability to get the seemingly hopeless cases wet.

Caroline Boysen

Caroline is the newest, if not quite the youngest member of the Aqua Diver Family. She took over our base at the Andaman White Beach Resort at the beginning of the 2004 season. After working in the legal and economic fields she came to Thailand for the first time 18 years ago. She then travelled extensively all over South-East Asia before deciding, in 1996, to make Phuket her home.

Her diving career started 11 years ago in her native Germany. After some time spent in tourism where she was diving for fun, she decided in 2000 to make her hobby her profession. Today Caroline is an CMAS 2 star Instructress and a PADI MSDT with additional qualifications in deep diving, night diving, underwater navigation, drift diving, EANx, the underwater natural world, peak performance buoyancy and project A.W.A.R.E. In addition she is an EFR Instructress.

Rainer Gottwald

Rainer, born 31. January 1966 is the founder of Aqua Divers Co. Ltd. In Germany, he worked as coordinator for the WKA (World Karate Association). He was a high-performing well known combat sportsman, champion and later a well-respected trainer, manager and organizer of sports events.

He left his native Germany (Father German, Mother from Slovenia) in 1993. Ever since his tour of duty with the German Navy (Deutsche Bundesmarine, Waffenschule Eckernförde), Rainer was an avid amateur sports diver, diving all around the world at the major divesites, known and unknown.

After a 2 years of traveling around the Caribbean's and Mexico, he came to Phuket in February 1995 for the German tourism operation Air Aqua Travel/Barakuda Touristik to find an established diving center to cooperate with in order to better serve their German customers.

As Rainer was not able to find a suitable cooperation partner, he decided to establish a diving center himself. The decision was put into action when his friend Raymond Honnings, owner of LTU Asia Co. Ltd. gave him an opportunity to negotiate a cooperation contract with the Pearl Village Hotel in Nai Yang Beach.

In 1995, Aqua Divers Co. Ltd. was founded. Driven by much enthusiasm and even more hard work, the company grew and prospered, and now holds a number of titles and awards in the diving industry. Aqua Divers today is one of the Best Diving Centers in South East Asia/Pacific, not only according to these awards. Rainer still likes to dive every day, especially with his regular customers of many years.

After the horrible Tsunami destroyed in December 2004 the most of the Aqua Divers Facilities and equipment, he rebuilt together with his buddy Jens the Aqua Divers Centers and together with his team and the TDA (TDA Diving Association Thailand) he co-organizes very successful many social events and donations in direct aid.

But the Tsunami over all together with the missing tourism afterwards forced then Rainer and Jens to give up the Nai Yang and JW Marriott Dive Centers, and they continued until today with the Aqua Divers Nai Thon and Aqua Divers Andaman Academies as successful as possible under this circumstances.

As well German TV broadcaster RTL made a 1 year coverage according to his outstanding engagements for the tsunami victims.

Also, apart from running a diving business, Rainer made his impression in non-profit diving organizations.

As dive instructor of many VIPs, for example of Libya's Leader's oldest Son  and now president of the LDA, Mohammad Gaddafi, he came to be a co-founder and executive committee member of the Libya Underwater And Diving Association (LDA), as a full voting member of the worldunderwaterfederation CMAS.

But ever since he visited Libya he felt home again whenever returning to this beautiful magic country.

Now as its time to open this "pearl of the Mediterranean" it will be his duty and honor to be involved to coordinate Libya's development in water sports, environment, and tourism, as a responsible appointed person and member of the LDA.

In Thailand, Rainer is working on the country's development in water sports, environment, and tourism.

As CEO (technical committee) of the CMAS Thailand Diving Association (TDA), he represents Thailand as a voting member of the world underwater federation CMAS.

He is responsible for the international coordination, technical standards for recreational diving and cooperation with other diving associations within the CMAS membership.

Rainer is happy married and a proud father of two healthy, nice children's, a boy named Baron Leonhard (5) and a girl named Sara Chantima (10).
